Entries now open for NSW Mining Industry and Suppliers Awards

NSW mining industry and suppliers awardsEntries are now open for the NSW Mining Industry and Suppliers Awards with nominations being sought in five categories.

CEO of NSW Minerals Council, Stephen Galilee, said he was looking for entries from businesses and individuals in the resources sector who go the extra mile.

“We want to highlight the big success stories and recognise some of the industry’s hidden gems too. It’s our chance to say thank you and recognise the people and the businesses whose hard work and achievements help to make NSW mining strong.”

This year the awards program has been extended with entries now open to companies and individuals in five categories:

  • Outstanding Supplier
  • Small Business Achievement
  • Young Achiever
  • Outstanding Contribution to Mining
  • Mining Operation of the Year

Jamie Howard, Group Managing Director, HMS Group, is one past winner who says these awards helped to put his business on the map.

“We’re a small business with big ambitions. This award put us on stage in front of the state’s biggest mining producers and we’ve been able to promote our business as a leading supplier to the sector as a result.” Jamie said.

“I would highly recommend the NSW Mining Industry & Suppliers Awards to showcase your business and demonstrate the high quality of suppliers we have in NSW.”

Gill Eason from Singletonbased business Pegasus says winning in 2012 was ‘an absolute thrill’.

“It is always so much more special to be recognised by your peers as doing a good job. We really enjoyed the conference and the award really helped us gain credibility with new customers,” Gill said.

Entries close Friday 10th October with the winners  announced at the NSW Mining Industry & Suppliers Awards Dinner at NSW Parliament on Thursday 20th November.
