Worker killed at Worsley Alumina Refinery in Western Australia

Worsley Aluminum RefineryA worker has died as a result of an incident that took place late yesterday afternoon at BHP’s Worsley alumina refinery near Collie in Western Australia.

In a statement, the company said the worker died during an incident in the refinery’s powerhouse.

“A full investigation is underway,” the firm said.

“We extend our deepest condolences and support to the family, friends and colleague at this difficult time.”

The Department of Mines and Petroleum are currently investigating the incident.
