#Job – Komatsu – Mechanic – Kalgoorlie Residential KCGM Project 7/4-7/3

The Opportunity
An exciting career opportunity is now available for a Mechanic (HD Fitter) to join Komatsu’s Kalgoorlie KCGM Project. This is a residential role based in the town of Kalgoorlie WA and reports directly to the Goldfields Area Manager. You would be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repair, servicing work and re-fuelling on a rotating shift crew under a Management and Repair Contract (MARC) at the KCGM mine site. The role will also ensure optimum availability and reliability of Komatsu and customer machinery, as well as ensure that contract KPI targets and compliance is met and exceeded.Work involves rotating 12 hour shifts with a roster of 7 days on / 4 off & 7 nights on / 3 off.
 
The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for

  • Relevant Trade Certificate – Mobile Plant Mechanic (HD Diesel Fitter – Earthmoving/Heavy Transport)
  • Minimum 2 years trade experience with repair and maintenance of all types of mining size earthmoving equipment, including large mining shovels/diggers/excavators
  • Current High Risk Crane (CN), Elevated Work Platform (WP) and a HR Driver’s licence are essential
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the design & function of Komatsu mining & civil equipment
  • Mine site breakdown/diagnostics experience is essential
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good understanding of computer systems
  • Air-con and Auto Electrical experience, qualifications and diagnostic skills will be highly regarded
