Andrew McMahon and David Moult

Two of New South Wales’ most experienced mine industry professionals have joined  the Coal Services, Mines Rescue and Coal Mines Insurance Boards.

Current Director, Safety and Health at the NSW Minerals Council (NSWMC), Andrew McMahon and Managing Director of Centennial Coal, David Moult, have been appointed to the vacant positions.

Mr McMahon and Mr Moult replace outgoing Director and past Chairman, Tony Haraldson and Director, David Gunzburg.

In a statement, Coal Services Chairman, Wayne McAndrew said he was pleased to welcome Mr McMahon and Mr Moult to the Board.

“I look forward to their valuable contribution, particularly as we progress towards reaching our strategic goals in the coming years,” Mr McAndrew said.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Haraldson and Mr Gunzburg for their contributions during their time on the Board.”

The Coal Industry Act 2001 provides for a Board comprising seven Directors appointed with the approval of the Minister for Resources and Energy. Two Directors are nominated by the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU), two are nominated by the NSW Minerals Council, and two are independent Directors with relevant expertise who are nominated jointly by the CFMEU and the NSW Minerals Council.
