BLJ in-Situ Solutions’ specialised on-line and off-line mechanical services are key to the operational efficiency of key Australian industries including; Refining, Petrochemical, CSG, LNG, Alumina, Power Generation and Mining industries.

BLJ maintains the advantage over the conventional use of machine shops in their ability to service and repair plant equipment, through a wide range of portable tooling than can be mobilised to a client’s site to meet specific plant maintenance requirements. BLJ’s services are designed to keep plants operational and efficient. BLJ bring their equipment to the client and work in-situ, saving both time and money.

BLJ’s specialised on-line Services such as Hot tapping and Leak sealing provides our clients with a means of conducting maintenance whilst maintaining plant productivity. While the off-line mechanical services such as In-Situ Machining, Bolt Torqueing, Bolt Tensioning and flange Joint Management, help to reduce unwanted down-time for our clients.

CASE STUDY

One of BLJ In-Situ Solutions’ core services is Leak Sealing which is the process of sealing leaking pressure plant while it remains on-line, under pressure and temperature. This solution provides clients with a means of eliminating leaks whilst maintaining plant productivity, reducing the damaging effects on plants and the surrounding environment (such as; product emissions, noise levels, plant hazards, pipe damage and erosion), all while saving time and money in the process.

Leak sealing utilises specialist compounds and a mechanical retaining device to affect a seal combining stringent procedures and risk assessments together with experienced trained personnel and specialist equipment to ensure a safe process and an effective seal.

A recent under pressure leak sealing was employed as a solution for plant damage at a Queensland Refinery site which involved a boiler feed water leak on a 6” header line (weld crack). As you can see from the photograph the leak was displacing a large volume of stream that had the potential to create an unplanned outage.

BLJ In-Situ Solutions can work with clients to define appropriate response times for specific work scopes and to establish Key Performance Indicators allowing plants to remain operational and efficient. The focus on response time is imperative to ensure BLJ deliver the highest quality of service. Regardless, if it is day to day plant maintenance requirements or specialised bundled services, for a major shutdown, we have the experience, resources and systems to assist.
