Employer accepts foreign jobseekers at Bowen Basin coal mines

A multinational mining company is willing to recruit temporary skill shortage workers at multiple Central Queensland operations.

BHP Operations Services recently welcomed foreign jobseekers to apply for numerous vacant positions at Blackwater Coal Mine (226km west of Rockhampton), Goonyella Riverside Coal Mine (203km southwest of Mackay), and Peak Downs Coal Mine (210km southwest of Mackay).

“[We have] potential to take over existing Australian sponsorship visas ([subclass] 482),” the employer said on the Seek website.

The following permanent, full-time positions have been advertised:

  • Caterpillar and Liebherr truck diesel fitters (multiple positions)
  • excavator diesel fitters (multiple)
  • auto electricians (multiple).

Click here to apply. Successful applicants will be offered competitive remuneration, annual bonuses, paid leave and a “generous” share match scheme. Rosters will be either seven days on seven days off, or four days on three days off.

Company paid transport and subsidised flights will also be provided between Moranbah, Emerald and Brisbane.
