Have your say on CSG emission estimation

The federal government is seeking comment from industry on a new coal seam gas discussion paper that is ‘aimed at improving measurement and estimation of fugitive greenhouse gas emissions from coal seam gas exploration and production.’

The government held the first round of public consultation on emission estimation methods for CSG production between April and October last year.  This new discussion paper presents new proposals for the enhancement of methods to estimate fugitive emissions associated with the exploration and production of coal seam gas used by companies for reporting under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting system.

The government is asking interested parties may make submissions by Wednesday 8 May 2013.

Where possible, submissions should be lodged electronically in a text based format (such as PDF, Word doc) via email to: nationalgreenhouseaccounts@climatechange.gov.au.
