Newcrest shares hit after dam wall collapse at Cadia gold mine

Shares in Australia’s biggest gold miner, Newcrest Mining, fell more than 5 per cent on news the breach of a tailings dam wall at its Cadia gold mine will affect its performance for fiscal 2018.

Shortly after midday on Monday the company’s stock was down $1.06 to $20.53.
