A contractor working at Northern Star Resources’ Paulsens Gold Mine has died after becoming “seriously unwell” this morning.
Northern Star has temporarily ceased operational activity on site while an investigation by authorities is underway, according to a company statement.
“Northern Star directors, management and staff extend their sympathies and condolences to the man’s family and friends at this tragic time”, the company said.
No other workers were involved in the incident.
Paulsens is an underground gold mine located 180km west of Paraburdoo, Western Australia.
