Part of a mining services company won a new tender in Queensland’s Bowen Basin region.

A subsidiary of NRW Holdings recently secured different work packages at BHP Mitsubishi Alliance’s Saraji coal mine, 267km south of Mackay.

The deal involves bulk excavating 1 million cubic metres (m3), general backfilling 200,000 m3 and environmentally rehabilitating 400,000 sqm. It also requires constructing a new levee, access road and other minor works.

Construction is expected to end sometime in December 2024, employing about 90 people throughout the process.

The work is part of a series of contracts worth a combined $240 million.

Other packages include:

  • civil construction at Rio Tinto’s West Angelas A West Project
  • structural mechanical piping construction at Lynas Rare Earths’ Mount Weld Expansion
  • bulk earthworks and civil construction at Rio’s Coastal Water Supply Sustaining Project
  • concrete installation, associated earthworks, drainage and road construction across the Pilbara region.
