A mining magnate farewelled one of his relatives.
Donald Forrest, father of Andrew Forrest, recently passed away at the age of 95.
The man passed away at the historic Minderoo station, a property deeply intertwined with his family legacy, on 24 September 2023.
The station, which faced challenges of drought and financial strain, was once sold in 1998. However, Fortescue Metals Group’s executive chairman repurchased it in 2009 for $12 million according to News Limited.
Donald Forrest’s life and contributions will be commemorated at Minderoo station on October 1, with a subsequent memorial service planned in Perth.
