Most product or service providers admitted they do not monitor live delivery updates.

Tive’s latest state of visibility 2023 report found only 25 per cent of suppliers used real-time shipping trackers and devices.

The finding was in stark contrast to an overwhelming 73 per cent who believed real-time shipment visibility is a “must-have” feature.

“Shippers and logistics service providers (LSPs), who do not use a real-time visibility solution to track a shipment’s location and condition, instead rely on websites, emails, phone calls and other assorted legacy software to track the status of goods,” the report said.

“These inconsistent and oftentimes outdated methods create risk for LSPs in the form of decreased end-customer satisfaction—and, for the business development (sales) teams at LSPs, barriers to winning new customer business.”

Eighty per cent of study participants are directly involved in supply chain operations and visibility.
