A mining services company will pay jobseekers more to live and work in Queensland’s Central Highlands region.

Mastermyne Group is offering an annual $7800 market allowance to any recruit who relocates close to QCoal’s Cook Colliery, 195km west of Rockhampton.

The successful contractor has advertised the following permanent full-time positions:

  • miner drivers (multiple positions)
  • electricians (multiple)
  • operators (multiple)
  • fitters (multiple)
  • ERZ controller.

Other perks include equal-time rosters, relocation allowance, performance and parental bonuses, loyalty gifts, prescription safety glasses, superannuation, annual leave, private health subsidies, discounted income protection, salary packaging, motor vehicle novated leasing and company paid education.

Fully funded training, and ongoing coaching and mentorship, is also available.

The successful bidder, which is part of Metarock Group, will spend the next four years operating the mine and delivering run of mine coal to the surface stockpile under the supervision of QCoal-owned Constellation Mining. Constellation will manage all processing, rail, shipping and marketing activities. QMEB can reveal the deal is worth $280 million and there is potential for the contract to be extended by another two years.

“Our preference is always to live locally to the mine operation and there are benefits available to incentivise those who live in, or would like to relocate to the beautiful Central Highlands. Flights will be provided to those who choose to reside in southeast Queensland,” Mastermyne said on the Seek website.
